Chedi Yutthaheete

Ban Tak, Ko Tapae Sub-district, Ban Tak District, Tak Province 63120.

According to ancient tales, it is said that after King Ramkhamhaeng ascended the throne in Sukhothai, he ordered the construction of a stupa on a high mountain peak. This site marked the location of the legendary duel between him and Khun Samchun, the ruler of Chao, commemorating a significant event when Khun Samchun led an army to attack Tak. King Siri Indraditya, along with his 19-year-old son, who would later be known as King Ramkhamhaeng, joined the effort to confront Khun Samchun's forces at Tak. During the battle, King Siri Indraditya and Khun Samchun engaged in their epic duel. However, the war elephant of King Siri Indraditya became startled and fled from the enemy. Witnessing this, his son skillfully guided his elephant named Enakphon, positioning it in the middle of the battlefield, and bravely took on Khun Samchun. The elephant named Masueng helped secure victory for the prince, ultimately causing Khun Samchun to flee from Tak.
