“Wat Phra Borom That” is located in Moo 3, Ko Tha Phao Subdistrict, Ban Tak District, Tak Province. Travelers can reach the temple by heading along Asian Road No. 1, specifically at kilometer 442. The route continues towards Lampang Province, about 18 kilometers from Tak city to the intersection leading to Ban Tak. After driving for another 1.5 to 2 kilometers, turn left to cross the river. Once across, you will find a market; take a right at the small intersection by the market and continue driving following the signs. Within 10 kilometers, you will arrive at the temple on your left. According to historical records, Wat Phra Borom That is situated on the western bank of the Ping River. Originally, this area was part of the old Tak city before it was relocated to the current location at Rahan Subdistrict, about 30 kilometers to the south. This location has a rich history dating back to the reign of Queen Cham Thewi, who traveled by boat to Lamphun and stopped to rest here, discovering an abandoned city. She then ordered the restoration and revitalization of the area, leading to the establishment of the Ban Tak community. Wat Phra Borom That is also mentioned in the stone inscriptions of King Ramkhamhaeng, who defeated the lord of the Chao Tua in a battle on a hill approximately 500 meters from the temple.
