The Shrine of Phra Chao Cha Fha Mung Muang is located on Song Nang Sithi Road in Mukdahan Municipality. Within the shrine, there is also a city pillar erected. The origins of this shrine remain a mystery; it is believed to have been established alongside the founding of Mukdahan in 1770 when the deity Kinnari came to build the city. Initially, it was merely a wooden shrine, but it has since been renovated into a concrete structure. The people of Mukdahan regard the Shrine of Phra Chao Cha Fha Mung Muang as a sacred place that protects the city, ensuring peace and prosperity. Every year, on the full moon of the sixth month, the locals conduct a ceremonial offering to both Phra Chao Cha Fha Mung Muang and the two sister goddesses, seeking blessings and auspiciousness. Today, the shrine has been transformed from a simple wooden structure into a Chinese-style shrine, attracting numerous visitors who come to pay their respects and seek blessings regularly. Within this small shrine, the city pillar is also displayed (though it is not the main city pillar). Visitors who come to worship the two sister goddesses often continue their journey to pay homage to Phra Chao Cha Fha Mung Muang as well. Surprisingly, there are no historical records or documents pertaining to the establishment of this shrine or the history of Phra Chao Cha Fha Mung Muang. The people of Mukdahan simply know that the shrine has always been part of their lives, paying their respects in gratitude for a peaceful family life. The locals firmly believe that Phra Chao Cha Fha Mung Muang has continually protected Mukdahan, providing tranquility and comfort, serving as an anchor for their spirits and a source of faith for all residents of the province.
