The people of Songkhla refer to it as the “City Pillar Shrine.” Located on Nang Ngam Road, this historical site dates back to the Rattanakosin era and features a traditional Chinese-style shrine. It was built during the administration of Phra Ya Wichian Kiri (Thien Seng na Songkhla), who served as the governor of Songkhla. Inside the shrine, the city pillar made of Chai Phreuk wood stands proudly, a gift bestowed upon the city by King Nangklao (Rama III). The ceremony to bury the city pillar took place on March 10, 1842.
