Wat Tha Luang

Tambon Nai Muang, Mueang Phichit District.

The Wat Ku Ban Ku Mueang of Phichit Province is home to the revered Luang Por Phet and is classified as a third-class royal temple. Additionally, it has served as a venue for long boat racing, competing for the royal trophy awarded by King Rama IX, and has proudly hosted the championship of Thailand. Wat Tha Luang is a significant temple in Phichit, located along the western bank of the Nan River on Busaba Road, near the old provincial hall. This temple was built around 1845 during the reign of King Nangklao (King Rama IV). Inside the sanctuary lies the magnificent Luang Por Phet, a statue of the Buddha in the Mara Victory posture, crafted from bronze. The statue is exceptionally beautiful, measuring 1.40 meters wide and 1.60 meters tall, and it stands as a prominent symbol of Phichit.
