Phathammarong Museum (Phathammarong)

Thanon Jan Na, Bo Yang, Songkhla City.

Originally, this place was the home of the Tinnasulanont family, which later transformed into a museum to replicate the original residence of Khun Winich Thangkam, a Deputy Governor of Songkhla during his tenure as the special governor of Phatthamarong. The museum reflects memories shared by General Prem Tinnasulanont. The structure exhibits traditional Thai architecture with a single-story, elevated wooden house featuring two gabled roofs and an open porch that connects the spaces. Inside, it showcases personal belongings of the Tinnasulanont family from the past, along with a history of the family itself. Currently, the Songkhla Municipality is in charge of this place, developing it into a tourist information center named "Tinnasulanont." The Tinnasulanont surname was graciously conferred by King Rama VI on June 14, 1919, allowing Thai people to have a family name for lineage tracing. It serves as a symbol of family pride and helps descendants uphold the virtues of maintaining the family’s honor and legacy for enduring prosperity. The meaning of "Tinnasulanont" can be broken down as follows: "Tinn" means "grass," "Sula" means "sharp edge," and "Non" means "satisfaction." Altogether, "Tinnasulanont" translates to "pleasure in sharp grass." Location: It is situated at 1 Chana Road, Mueang District, Songkhla, near the Songkhla National Museum.

Province: Songkhla
