The royal residence in Nakhon Si Thammarat was built to serve as a working retreat for His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) and the royal family during their visits to Nakhon Si Thammarat. It is situated within the ancient fruit orchards of the Thongsamak family, who constructed the guesthouse on behalf of the people of Nakhon Si Thammarat. The architecture showcases a Thai style with an adapted southern design, surrounded by lush greenery of fruit trees and ornamental plants. It was inaugurated by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on August 17, 1998, and has since become a fascinating tourist attraction within Nakhon Si Thammarat. Visitors are welcome every day from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, except on Wednesdays and during royal engagements. To reach the site from the city center, take Highway 4016 (Nakhon Si Thammarat - Phromlok) and drive past Phromlok Market until you reach kilometer 22, then turn right and continue for 2.5 kilometers.
