The highlight of Wat Khao Chon is the colored painting of Phra Buddha Chai. Upon its discovery, the lines of the artwork were faint and it was impossible to determine the artist. Later, in 1942, the Royal Thai Army Mapping Department established a marble factory at the foot of the mountain and enhanced the original image by outlining it more clearly. They also built a pavilion to allow devotees to enter and pay their respects.
