The New Contemporary Art Museum is a venue dedicated to showcasing contemporary art from both Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia. Established by Mr. Erik Bunnak, the museum transforms a historically significant warehouse space in San Kamphaeng, covering 3,000 square meters, into a vibrant display of art. Designed by architect Rachaporn Choochouy from Allzone Architects, the museum’s design integrates the history of the area into its "architecture," with an emphasis on making "the artwork" the main attraction, rather than the architectural structure itself. The building is divided into two floors: - The ground floor features a rotating exhibition hall, a 40-seat cinema, and a corridor dedicated to the tribute of Princess Aiem and the history of the Bunnak family. - The upper floor houses a permanent exhibition space along with two smaller exhibition rooms. The central area of the museum is versatile, allowing for both indoor and outdoor usage configurations.
