Located in the Gulf of Thailand, at the border between Sai Buri and Mai Kaen districts in Pattani Province, Yupa Island is one of the 25 unseen new series attractions promoted by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), showcasing a fresh perspective on the country’s tourism. This small rocky island features no trees or structures, allowing visitors to dock their boats and walk up to enjoy breathtaking views from the island, where panoramic vistas await in every direction—360 degrees of stunning scenery. The underwater world around Yupa Island remains remarkably pristine, serving as a vibrant habitat for coral reefs, sea anemones, and a myriad of fish species. The highlight of this destination is undoubtedly the enchanting pink coral, which forms extensive fields surrounding the island, making it a must-see for scuba divers. The best time to visit is between June and September. For transportation, travelers can catch the boat to Yupa Island from the Plub Plara Rung Jai Pracha Pier in Ban La Waeng, Mai Kaen district. The journey typically takes about one hour aboard a traditional fishing boat. It is essential for tourists to have a diving certification for safety reasons.
