The Ganesh Park is the brainchild of Phra Rajpipham Khosol, also known as Luang Phor Nern, the abbot of Wat Sri Sutaram Worawihan in Bang Khun Non, Bangkok. He was granted 16 rai (approximately 6.4 acres) of land by the disciples of Luang Phor Phu, a former abbot of Wat Velurachin in the Bang Yi Rua area of Bangkok. This land, bordered by natural canals, was initially intended for a senior citizen care home, but the project was postponed, leaving the land abandoned for a long time. Eventually, the idea emerged to build a meditation center along with a large statue of Lord Ganesha, which measures 9 meters wide and 15 meters tall, making it the largest of its kind in Thailand. In addition to being a sacred space for meditation, the park features Lord Ganesha in the sitting position for granting blessings, also known as the "Khanabadi" posture, as well as the "Sahyasa" posture for bestowing blessings, with the former being the largest of its kind in the world and strikingly beautiful. Furthermore, there is a museum building that houses an extensive collection of 108 images of Lord Ganesha in various postures, making it a unique site in Thailand. One more highlight not to be missed is the worship of the ancient black Ganesha statue, more than 800 years old, which is enshrined in the Maha Thep Hall, symbolizing ongoing blessings and auspiciousness.
