Suthewa Ruesi Monument

Moo 2, Wiang Yong, Lamphun City

The legend of the founding of Haripunjaya city states that the sage Suteva was the creator of this city. However, he was a practitioner of meditation and chose not to engage in worldly affairs, so he invited Queen Jamathewi, the daughter of King Chakrawat of the Laawa kingdom, to govern in his place. He also assisted her in firmly establishing Buddhism in the city of Haripunjaya. This monument was constructed in honor of his contributions to Haripunjaya, which is now known as Lamphun. When visiting Lamphun, there are ten must-visit temples and restaurants that offer the unique local flavors you shouldn't miss. It's a delightful experience to relax in the charming eateries in the area!

Province: Lamphun
