The term "Khaekhaek" comes from the Malay language, meaning a loud and boisterous sound. In the past, merchant ships from Indonesia would dock at Pattani because of the convenient peninsula that extends into the sea, making it easy to berth. However, as the ships approached the shore, they found the water too shallow to land. The sailors would loud uproar to call upon the locals for assistance, which became the legend behind Khaekhaek Beach. Over time, this beach has been filled with the continuous clamor from tourists who flock to relax and enjoy the scenery, serving as a source of income for the local community. However, today, that lively noise has nearly faded away, with only locals visiting the area, as outside tourists have become hesitant to venture into this land. The highlight of Khaekhaek Beach is its stunning large granite boulders, creating a unique and beautiful landscape on the hills. There are pavilions for resting and taking in the breathtaking views of the Panare district.
