bird cage village

Moo 2, Ban Sakom, Bo Yang, Songkhla City.

Raising birds in Southern Thailand is not only a source of joy but also an integral part of the local lifestyle and culture that has been cherished for generations. Crafting birdcages is considered a traditional artisan skill that has been passed down through the ages. In the past, villagers made birdcages for personal use to keep birds at home or to adorn their residences. Today, birdcages are also crafted for sale as souvenirs for tourists, thanks to a women's group established in 1996. This group has collaborated to come up with a variety of creative ideas, such as crafting small birdcage lamps and producing birdcages in various sizes at affordable prices. The location for these charming creations is in Sakom Village, Tambon Sakom, Moo 2 Ban Na, Tambon Ban Na, and Huadin Village in Tambon Pachin, Songkhla Province.

Province: Songkhla
