The Buriram Bird Park is located in the Sakha Sam sub-district, within the area of the Huai Talat reservoir. Established as a wildlife sanctuary in 1992, it has been found to host over 100 species of birds annually. Particularly during the dry season, from November to April, the area attracts a significant influx of birds. Some species, such as the swan goose, the lesser whistling duck, and the lotus heron, are nearing extinction and are quite rare to spot. At the residence of Mr. Sawat Khoshaney, a bird sanctuary and leisure area has been created, making it an ideal spot to observe birds in the evening. Every day, around 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, thousands of white egrets return to their nests, creating a breathtaking spectacle. Bicycle tours around the area are available, and for more information, you can call 0 4460 5169. To get there, travel 12 kilometers from Buriram city center along Highway 219 (the Buriram-Prakhon Chai route). At the Ban Khao Tal Health Station, take a left turn and continue for about 2.5 kilometers.
