Wat Luang Pho Pak Daeng

Ban Yai Subdistrict, Mueang Nakhon Nayok District

There is a revered sacred Buddha statue known as "Luang Por Pak Daeng," which is widely respected. This statue is in a meditative posture, made of bronze, with a lap width of 49 inches and a height of 1 meter, showcasing the artistic style of the Lan Chang period. The robe is adorned with a plum blossom pattern, while the statue’s lips are painted a vibrant red, making it quite striking. Locals affectionately refer to it as "Luang Por Pak Daeng" due to this distinctive feature. What stands out the most is the bright red color of the statue's mouth, reminiscent of someone applying lipstick. The elders in the area have confirmed that they have seen the lips of the statue painted red just like this since their childhood.
