According to historical accounts, this ancient temple was originally named "Wat Kaew." The first abbot, known as Phra Khame, possessed remarkable spiritual powers. It became known as "Wat Suan Kaew Uthayan" because the temple and its surroundings in ancient times were lush gardens, reminiscent of a beautiful park.
