Wat Pa Daet

Pa Daet Subdistrict, Mueang Chiang Mai District.

Wat Pa Daet, formerly known as Wat Don Kaew, has undergone continuous restoration and is well-maintained. This is largely due to the reverence held for the abbot, Phra Kru Palad Phayungsak Theeradej, by many businesspersons from Bangkok and numerous celebrities. One of the highlights of the temple is the Vihara, a fully concrete building constructed in the Lanna architectural style. It features ornate gables, decorative brackets, and elegant Naga tails adorned with delicate gold reliefs. The pediment showcases a stunning golden relief of floral patterns, and the doorways and windows, designed in the Lanna artistic style, are also embellished with gold reliefs. This makes the Vihara shimmer in golden hues, captivating nearly every square inch of its exterior.
