Within Wat Thai Yan, there is the "Vihara of Wat Thai Yan," which has been closed since 1994 for approximately 20 years. The abbot, Phra Kru Boon, had ordered it to be locked up upon its completion, and it remained so until his passing that same year. Afterward, Phra Khru Mongkhon Suttikij, also known as Phra Phan, took over as the new abbot but also did not open the vihara, and he passed away as well. The contents inside the vihara remained a mystery to everyone. Recently, with Phra Palad Piyapan Burakaro assuming the role of abbot, a committee meeting was held to officially open the vihara to allow the public to pay respects to the reclining Buddha, Phra Buddha Sainas Punnaphā. Inside the vihara is a gigantic reclining Buddha covered in beautiful golden silk. The current abbot and the committee of the temple collaborated with the Sala Daeng Sub-District Municipality and agreed to open the vihara for worshippers while renovating it to make it a tourist attraction, alongside the famous "Abandoned Wat Sangkratai," which is surrounded by the roots of a Bodhi tree. The reclining Buddha measures 18 wa and 9 inches in length and stands 9 meters tall, beautifully wrapped in golden silk. It is recognized as the second largest reclining Buddha, surpassed only by the one at Wat Sainat Pramun, and larger than the reclining Buddha at Wat Pa Mok.
