This is an old temple built in 1937 B.E. (Buddhist Era). According to the abbot's accounts, it is presumed to be an ancient temple established during the late Ayutthaya period. It was previously said that Wat Tikhraja originally stood on the opposite bank of the Lopburi River, directly across from the current location of the temple. This area was home to a deserted temple known as Wat Luang. The reason for relocating the temple across the river was that the local villagers felt the original site was unsuitable. They gathered together and decided to establish a new temple on the opposite bank. At that time, there was an abandoned building in the area, which led to the name "Wat Tikhraja," a name that has persisted to this day.
