The Goddess of Wat Dusit, known as Kattiya Narita, is the ancestor of the kings of the Chakri dynasty. She was a noble woman of the Siamese royal court during the reign of King Prasat Thong and served as a wet nurse to King Narai the Great. Later, she was honored with the title of Tawang Som Sak Mahathatri, and is often referred to as Princess Bua (though there is no definitive evidence of her lineage). Originally, she resided close to Wat Dusit, which is situated alongside the Dusit Canal, connecting to the Pak Khao San Canal. Subsequently, King Narai the Great commissioned the construction of a palace with buildings near Wat Dusit, leading to her being known as the Goddess of Wat Dusit.
