Phra That Phon Chik Wiang Ngua

Phra That Phon Chik Wiang Ngua

RPH Road 3078 (Ban Pakho - Ban Khok Kham), Pakho Subdistrict, Mueang Nong Khai District.

Phra That Phon Chik Wiang Ngua is one of the most significant Buddhist sites in Nong Khai province. It is believed to house the sacred relic of the Buddha's tooth, known as "Phra Khiew Fang." The legend of its establishment dates back to the year 8 B.E. (Buddhist Era), and it is said that the temple was constructed by King Phothisalarat, the father of King Chai Chaichathirat, during the years 2063-2093 B.E. This historical backdrop has made it a revered place of worship for the people of Nong Khai and Buddhist devotees in general. The ambiance within the temple is peaceful and serene, and both the Phra That Phon Chik Wiang Ngua and the old ubosot base have been restored and enhanced by the Fine Arts Department. Informational signs detailing the relic and various historical sites within the temple grounds have been installed for visitors. Those interested can pay their respects and explore the temple freely every day, as there is no entrance fee.
