Prang Ku, or Nakhon Ku Temple, is located in Ban Yang Ku, Mueang Ma Ei District, Roi Et Province, near the Tha Wang Chai District Office. Prang Ku comprises a complex of buildings that share architectural features similar to what is believed to be Arokayasala, as referenced in the inscriptions of the Phanom Rung Temple. The site includes the main prang, a library, walls with paired entrances, and an external pond. Generally, the structure has maintained its original condition quite well, particularly the main prang, which has three remaining tiers on its roof and an upper base of the prang. Though other structures are in ruins, the temple grounds have been organized to appear serene and well-kept. Furthermore, within the inner wall on the southeast side, several ancient artifacts are preserved under wooden buildings, including sandstone lintels engraved with images of figures seated on the backs of elephants or cows, located within a chamber adorned with glass. According to the abbot of the Sri Rattanaram Temple, these are lintels from the main prang’s front entrance. The doorway frames consist of two pieces, one portraying a hermit at the base of a large Shiva Lingam, alongside a foundation piece of the prang that has been repurposed as a base for a stucco image of Phra Sangkajjai, dating back to around the 18th Buddhist century. Tourists interested in visiting can travel from the city center along Highway 23 (Roi Et - Yasothon) for approximately 10 kilometers to reach the Tha Wang Chai District Office. A left turn will lead to Prang Ku, situated about 6 kilometers away. Alternatively, you can take Highway 2044 (Roi Et - Phon Thong) and continue for about 8 kilometers, where a right turn will bring you to Prang Ku, just 1 kilometer ahead. From the city, you can also take Highway 202 (Chaiyaphum - Bua Yai) for about 1 kilometer, turning right onto Highway 2154 for another 2 kilometers to reach Prang Ku.
