The National Artist's House, Mae Pranom Thapan, serves as a learning center for the traditional cotton weaving of Muang Long. It is a comprehensive source of knowledge and information regarding local handicrafts, encompassing the entire process from cotton cultivation and indigo farming to spinning cotton threads, weaving local textiles and the distinctive Laong poinsettia-patterned fabric. The center also focuses on natural dyeing techniques, as well as design and sewing practices. The aim is to preserve and pass on the rich heritage of local handicrafts to future generations, ensuring that these skills continue to thrive within the community and society at large.
