Samrongkiat Waterfall is one of the most famous waterfalls in Si Sa Ket Province, located within the Phnom Dong Rak Wildlife Sanctuary in the Bak Dong sub-district of Khun Han district, approximately 81 kilometers from the provincial capital. Originally named "Spirit Waterfall," it was named after a special military unit known as the "Spirit Unit," which used this waterfall as a base of operations. In 2006, after the area was developed for tourism, the waterfall's name was changed to "Samrongkiat Waterfall," named after a nearby village. The waterfall originates from the Kan Tung mountain on the Bantat mountain range and is classified as a medium-sized waterfall, cascading down a cliff with a height of 8 meters. One of the distinctive features of this waterfall is the stream of water that flows across a rocky plateau at the top, creating a beautiful scene, especially during the rainy season. The surrounding atmosphere is lush with a variety of trees, making it an ideal spot for relaxation activities. Visitors can enjoy picnics, take a dip in the water, or capture stunning photographs of the waterfall from various angles. Like many other waterfalls, Samrongkiat Waterfall offers a refreshing flow of water throughout the rainy season. The best time to visit is from September to February each year. Opening hours are daily from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. For more information, please call 0 4451 4447.
