The "Cave of the Moon and Stars" is a unique cave with a water source flowing from the outside. It features an underground waterway that emerges from the other side of the cave, shaped by the erosive processes over millions of years, resulting in a marvelous seepage cave. The water runs through to the cave entrance located at Ban Mung. Spanning approximately 1.4 kilometers, exploring the Cave of the Moon and Stars requires climbing through a small pathway leading to the cave's interior. Inside, there is a hall-like space where a stream flows continuously, featuring water levels that range from knee-high to chest-high during this season. The refreshing, cold water offers a delightful escape from fatigue. Additionally, the cave's walls are adorned with stunning white stalactites and stalagmites, resembling sparkling diamonds that brilliantly reflect the light, creating a beautiful visual experience. Along the walls, one can also admire layers of granite that have been formed and compressed over countless years, presenting an extraordinary sight for adventurers. The best time to visit the beauty of the Cave of the Moon and Stars is during the dry season, around March to April, when the water levels in the interior canal are lower, making it easier to explore. During the rainy season, access becomes hazardous due to increased water levels. For those interested in visiting, you can inquire about the routes at the Moon and Stars Cave Patrol Station (Sal. 6) within Thung Salaeng Luang National Park, or contact the tourist information center in Ban Mung Village, Nern Maprang District, at 085-4001727.
