“เจ้าแม่จุ้ยป่วยเนี้ยว” translates to "Lady of the Water", a revered goddess particularly honored by sailors and fishermen, regarded as the deity of the sea who protects travelers on the water. This shrine's origin dates back to the past when Nonthaburi was recognized as an important port city and trading hub for maritime commerce. The deity, known as "Lady of the Ruby," is often associated with the red ruby gem that she consistently adorns. Later, Chinese merchants in Nonthaburi decided to build a shrine for the province to serve as a place of worship for the local market community. Upon completion, they invited the Lady of the Ruby to reside within the shrine, as well as enshrined the city pillar spirit, which was also located at the Pak Khlong Oam Shrine. Since then, both the Chinese community and merchants living in this area have thrived in harmony, enjoying prosperity in their trade. It is said that those who come to pay their respects and make wishes at this shrine often find success in their business endeavors.
