Brief History
ตำนานเก่าเล่าว่า ในสมัยกรุงสุโขทัยเจริญรุ่งเรืองนั้น ท้าวมหาพรหมได้เข้ามาสร้างเมืองที่บ้านอุทัยเก่า คือ อำเภอหนองฉางในปัจจุบันนี้ แล้วพาคนไทยเข้ามาอยู่ท่ามกลางหมู่บ้านคนมอญและคนกะเหรี่ยงจึงเรียกว่า "เมืองอู่ไทย"
