Brief History
เดิมเป็นที่ตั้งของเมือง ภูกามยาว หรือ พะยาว ที่ก่อตั้งขึ้นเมื่อพุทธศตวรรษที่ 16 โดยกษัตริย์องค์แรกคือ พญาจอมธรรม ซึ่งเป็นราชบุตรองค์หนึ่งจากเมืองหิรัญนครเงินยางเชียงแสน และเป็นบรรพบุรุษของกษัตริย์เมืองพะยาวอีกหลายองค์
