Adang Island covers an area of approximately 30 square kilometers and is located about 40 kilometers from the national park office. It serves as the base for the Tarutao National Park rangers at the T.T. 5 station (Laem Son - Adang Island). The island boasts beautiful, fine sandy beaches, making it an ideal spot for snorkeling. The general terrain is mountainous, cloaked in lush greenery, and is home to a waterfall that flows year-round, known as the Pirate Waterfall. The park also offers accommodations and camping sites for visitors. Additionally, there is a viewpoint at Phachado, which was historically used by pirates as a lookout point for attacking trading ships. Today, it offers stunning vistas and takes about 40 minutes to hike up. At the top of Phachado, there is a spacious area where visitors can gaze down at the pine trees and white sandy beaches of Adang Island, as well as catch a glimpse of Koh Lipe. It’s also a great spot to witness breathtaking sunrises. On the other hand, Koh Rawi, located just 1 kilometer from Adang Island, houses the ranger station at T.T. 6 (White Sand Beach). Koh Rawi features beautiful sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters, providing a peaceful retreat for visitors. Tourists often stop by Koh Rawi to swim and snorkel among the vibrant coral reefs. ***Note: The national park is closed for tourism and camping from May 16 to October 14.
