According to ancient legends, Khao Nam Khang is a high peak that experiences cold weather throughout the year. In ancient times, those who climbed to the summit found dew forming like scales over the blades of grass, resembling spider webs. Remarkably, even at noon, droplets of dew could still be seen sporadically on the grass tips, a phenomenon unique to this area, which is why it was named “Khao Nam Khang” (Dew Mountain). For over 40 years, Khao Nam Khang was considered a forbidden zone, starting from World War II when it came under the control of communist Chinese insurgents. The region is characterized by rugged, untamed terrain and a complex mountain range, making it one of the largest operational bases for communist bandits in the area. However, following the strategy known as “Operation Under the Cool Shade,” and under the military leadership of the Fourth Army Area along with mixed units of civilians, police, and soldiers from the 43rd Battalion, the foothold of these insurgents was successfully dismantled. This culminated in the capture of the insurgents' operational camp on July 25, 1980, leading to the eventual disbandment of the communist troops. The entrance fees for the national park are as follows: Thai citizens: Adults 20 Baht, Children 10 Baht Foreigners: Adults 100 Baht, Children 50 Baht
