The "Saan Thep-arak" translates to "The Shrine of the Guardian Deity of the City." Only those of great merit are worthy to lead the city; even a spirit is considered a ruler of the town. The spirit of "Major General Prince Boromwong Thae Kromluang Pajaksilpakhom" has been invited to reside at this shrine, as his essence is intertwined with that of the city he helped establish. Although he has passed away, it is believed that his spirit still watches over and protects the descendants of the people of Udon Thani. During the time of "Luang Supakit Janya," who served as the governor of Udon Thani, efforts were made to dredge the rice paddy swamp known as "Nong Pajaksilpakhom," transforming it into a reservoir. This project also led to the integrated construction of the shrine of Father Pu Thep-arak at Non Phung Do.
