The museum was established through the collaboration of a group of elderly individuals from Ban Pa Daet, who came together to create traditional toys reminiscent of their childhood for their grandchildren to enjoy. Inside the museum, you will find a plethora of folk toys and various newly invented toys on display. The materials used to create these toys include scraps of wood, coconut shells, and bamboo. Every piece is available for hands-on play, complete with names and simple descriptions that are fun to read, detailing their origins, usage, and deeper meanings beyond mere playthings. These toys reflect the lifestyle, culture, and societal changes of the time, such as the “Satang Spinning Top” (which has a hole in the center), “Sa La Sawing” (the woodworker), “Wo Spinning Top,” various rolling animals, string puppets, “Phaya Lum Ngai,” and “Kam Murn” (spinning tops), among others. The museum also features a shop selling community-made products, and there is no admission fee to visit. For more information, you can contact: 0 5370 8070, 0 5370 8500, or 08 9999 8537.
