The Sirindhorn Aquarium is located on Chaloem Phra Kiat Road, in Nong Kom Koa Subdistrict, within the campus of Khon Kaen University at Nong Khai. It serves as a venue for showcasing a variety of aquatic species, including both freshwater and saltwater fish. The aquarium aims to be a center for education and research in fisheries, to gather fish species from the Mekong River, and to function as a tourist attraction for the province. Covering an area of over 3 rai, the aquarium is divided into 9 groups with 18 systems for displaying aquatic species. It features a 34-meter long tunnel that descends from the second floor, where saltwater fish are exhibited, down to the lower level that showcases freshwater fish, native species, and fish from the Mekong River, all arranged in a naturalistic setting. The aquarium is open for visits every Tuesday to Sunday (closed on Mondays, except for public holidays when it remains open as usual). Admission fees are 50 Baht for adults and 30 Baht for students and children. Entry is free for monks, disabled individuals, seniors, and children under 90 centimeters in height.
