Located at 251 Phatthani Phirom Road, in the Anu Rah area of the old Chinese market community in Pattani, this classic wooden house is steeped in historical significance. It reflects the settlement of the Thai-Chinese people in Pattani Province and showcases the prosperity of this area in the past. The house is a two-story row building with two sections and two intervals of pillars, blending local architectural styles with Chinese influences. It is approximately 90 to 120 years old. The first floor features load-bearing walls made of brick, plastered with cement, while the second floor utilizes a column-and-beam structure, with wooden pillars extending down to the ground floor. The front gable roof contrasts with the hipped roof at the back, all covered with terracotta tiles. The layout adheres to feng shui principles, with the front area serving as a semi-private space, while the back and second floor are designated for relaxation. These areas are connected by a central courtyard (or chim jae), which houses a well and allows for airflow, ensuring that air circulates within the house and helps maintain a balanced internal temperature—making the home pleasantly cool and livable. Visits are available from Monday to Saturday (closed on Sundays and public holidays), but prior arrangements must be made at least one day in advance by calling the homeowner. There is no entrance fee. For appointments and inquiries, please contact Khun Mayuree Songkaew at 08 1609 4515 or visit www.bankhunpitakraya.com.
