Wat Daeng, also known as "Wat Ratchathammaram" or "Wat Sila Ngu," is a hidden gem located on Koh Samui in Surat Thani Province. This temple stands out with its stunning and unique red brick architecture, contrasting beautifully with the dazzling gold accents, making it incredibly charming and intriguing. The atmosphere here is peaceful and sacred, perfect for experiencing the spirit of Buddhism and admiring the exquisite Buddhist art. You will see intricate carvings, statues of Naga, and various sacred objects that tell the stories of Buddha's life. At certain times, you might even witness monks performing religious rituals. Don't forget to dress modestly by covering your knees and shoulders as a sign of respect for the place. Getting to Wat Daeng is very convenient. If you’re driving from Chaweng Beach, take Route 4169 heading northwest for about 6 kilometers, then turn right onto Route 4171. Keep driving for another 2 kilometers, and you will see a sign for Wat Daeng on your right, with parking available. Alternatively, you can take a songthaew from Chaweng and tell the driver you're going to Wat Ratchathammaram. This place is definitely an Unseen Thailand worth visiting, and you’re sure to get beautiful photos from every angle!
