Water is a precious resource and considered the lifeblood of all Thai people. Originally, Prachinburi province, located in the eastern region of Thailand, lacked dams or reservoirs. As a result, it frequently faced various flooding issues, such as inundation, drought, saltwater intrusion, and water pollution. The creation of the Huai Somong Reservoir was initiated to store available water for maximum benefit, ensuring that the local population has enough water for use and agriculture without scarcity. The Huai Somong Reservoir is a major project by the Royal Irrigation Department aimed at developing the flatland at the foothills in the sub-districts of Kaeng Din So, Na Di, Mueang Kao, Bo Thong, and Ban Na in Kabin Buri District, Prachinburi Province. Once completed, it will have a capacity to hold up to 295 million cubic meters of water. The construction of the Huai Somong Dam was planned for completion in 2018. However, due to its vast and picturesque lowland terrain, and the stunning panoramic views of the mountains from the main project site, it is anticipated that in just a few years, the Huai Somong Dam will become a significant new tourist attraction in Prachinburi Province. *Must-Visit Attractions* - The Ton Nam Auditorium: A wealth of information that offers a deep understanding of the creation of this reservoir.
