The admission fee is 20 THB for adults and 10 THB for children. Phuluang Wildlife Sanctuary, with its name meaning "the great mountain" or "the mountain of the king," was formed by the uplifting of the earth's surface, causing softer soil to wash down into lower areas. The sanctuary was designated as a protected wildlife area on December 18, 1974, covering approximately 560,593 rai (about 224,000 acres). The general landscape consists of high plains, with cool weather year-round. It is located within the districts of Wang Saphung, Phu Ruea, Dan Sai, and Phuluang.
