Koh Tan is located in Moo 2, Taling Ngam Subdistrict, in the southern part of Koh Samui. The eastern side features a long beach parallel to the coral reef, known as "Ao Ok," while the western side is a sheltered bay with mangroves and rocky beaches, referred to as "Ao Tok." This area boasts a relatively intact coral reef and shoreline. Additionally, nearby islands such as Koh Madsum and Koh Mod Daeng offer beautiful shallow coral reefs that are perfect for snorkeling. The island provides accommodations for tourists, and interestingly, Koh Tan is unique in that it is free of dogs. This is due to the presence of sound waves and magnetic fields in the area, which disrupt dogs' hearing. Koh Tan also features four nature trails for visitors to explore the unique landscapes and habitats.
