Kaeng Krachan National Park is the largest national park in Thailand, covering an area of 2,915 square kilometers, or 1.8 million rai. It was declared a national park on June 12, 1981, and features its highest peak, Ngangan Nik Young Tong, at the border of Myanmar and Thailand, rising 1,513 meters above sea level. The second highest peak is Phanern Thung, which stands at 1,207 meters above sea level. Additionally, Kaeng Krachan National Park won the Tourism Industry Award in 2008 for being the best natural tourist destination, and is home to many attractions. These include the reservoir above the Kaeng Krachan Dam, Phanern Thung peak, Phanern Thung Camp, Thotip Waterfall, Bang Krang Camp, Pranburi Waterfall, Mae Sa Leeang Waterfall, Huachang Cave, and Kapakarang Mountain. This park is also a habitat for various wildlife species, making Kaeng Krachan National Park an essential forest area in central Thailand that deserves conservation. Boat tours to explore the reservoir take approximately 45 minutes, offering scenic views and the opportunity to feed monkey troops on the island in the middle of the reservoir. The standard price is 500 baht, accommodating up to 10 people.
