Pattaya Elephant Village Pattaya Elephant Village

53/48 Chaiyaphruk 2 Road, Pattaya City, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi 20150, Thailand

The Elephant Village in Pattaya is a tourist destination that allows you to experience nature up close. Here, you can witness the rich diversity of the forest and interact with Thailand's beloved national animal, the elephant. This place dedicates itself to caring for and protecting these majestic creatures while providing visitors with services that generate income to support their upkeep. Mr. Phairat Chaiyakham, the owner of this establishment, began his journey out of a deep love and concern for elephants. He witnessed the unfortunate plight of elephants that, when injured, old or disabled, were abandoned. With over 50 years of experience, he established this sanctuary in 1972. From that day to today, the Elephant Village offers not only knowledge about elephants but also invites tourists to participate in their care. Visitors can indulge in a fully immersive experience at Pattaya's Elephant Village. Activities at Pattaya's Elephant Village range from watching elephant shows, taking photos with the elephants, feeding them, bathing them, to observing various other animals in the village. You can ride on an ATV, witness the silk weaving demonstration, enjoy the Kachash Khenes Devalaya performance, take a boat ride, or even travel in an ox cart. The highlight of the village is the elephant ride that allows you to appreciate nature. Packages for this experience are available and include various activities. A special service is provided for foreign tourists, offering free hotel pickup within Pattaya city; for locations outside the city, a nominal additional fee applies. The elephant shows will display the charming abilities of these creatures as they perform alongside their caretakers. You'll see elephants putting on hats for their trainers, shooting basketballs, and lifting trainers on their trunks. Tourists interested in riding an elephant can do so, and in group settings, there may even be a tug of war with the elephants to see if ten people can outmatch the strength of the elephants. Within the Elephant Village, you can also see animals such as ducks, rabbits, birds, chickens, fish, and swans. If you’re interested, there are designated areas where you can feed the fish. The silk weaving demonstration allows you to observe every step of the process, from silkworms to silk cocoons, boiling, spinning, and finally weaving the fabric. Embark on an elephant ride through lush forests and streams, available in four trips daily starting at 9:00 AM, with the last ride at 4:00 PM. The boarding process is made convenient with a platform allowing easy access, accommodating two people per elephant. The elephant ride lasts around 50 minutes, taking you through fields and alongside flowing water. The activities available depend on which program you choose, whether it's the One Hour Elephant Trekking or the Combination Trekking program. Each offers slightly different activities. The first program includes the elephant ride, a silk weaving demonstration, a traditional Thai dance performance, and complimentary transfers to and from your hotel. Additional activities like elephant shows, ox cart rides, boat rides, and ATV rides require extra charges. The second program includes all the activities of the first, plus the elephant show, ox cart rides, boat rides, and a buffet meal; ATV riding is also available at an additional cost. The Kachash Khenes Devalaya performance, which takes place four times a day starting at 12:30 PM with the final performance at 6:30 PM, showcases a blend of traditional Thai dance and modern performance art. This location attracts more international tourists eager to get close to elephants than local Thai visitors. If you love elephants and want to support their care, visiting this village allows you to contribute to their welfare while gaining knowledge and enjoying your time there.
