Sa Kaeo, specifically Sra Kwan, is a historically significant site in the past of Sa Kaeo province. Once, water from these two ponds was used in the royal ceremony of "Nang Phiphat Sattiya," based on the belief that the water was pure and sacred. Rewind to the era of King Buddha Yodfa Chulaloke (Rama I), Sra Kaeo and Sra Kwan made their mark in history during a time when the king still held the title of Somdej Chao Phraya Maha Kasat Suek. He was entrusted by King Taksin of Thonburi to lead an army to invade Cambodia, and they camped in this area. The troops relied on the water from both ponds for drinking and other needs, which led to the ponds being named "Sra Kaeo Sra Kwan." Today, this location serves as a water reservoir for the municipal water supply of Sa Kaeo city. Besides its historical importance, it also offers a recreational space, open to visitors daily from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. For more details, please contact 0 3731 2282 or 0 3731 2284.
