It is a geological museum focused on showcasing the stories of ancient fossils, under the jurisdiction of the Department of Mineral Resources, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. The museum is located on a 100-rai public area in Khok Sanambin, Nai Mueang Sub-district, Wiang Kao District, Khon Kaen Province. It was built with funding from the Tourism Authority of Thailand and is overseen by the Department of Mineral Resources. The museum opened its doors to visitors in 2001 and operates from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. It is closed every Monday, except on public holidays that fall on a Monday, when it remains open as usual.
