**Community History/Location** Dongyen Village is home to the Lao Krang people, an ethnic group with a long history originating from Laos, particularly around Luang Prabang. A subset of this group settled in the mountainous region known as Phu Khang, which later became known as Lao Krang. During the reign of King Rama III, a significant number of Lao people were relocated to Siam, dispersing throughout Central, Western, and Northern regions of the country. By the time of King Rama V, many Lao Krang migrated from Nakhon Pathom and established their community in U-Thong District, which includes Dongyen Village, a place with a considerable population of Lao Krang people. The community engages in rice farming, cultivation, and organic vegetable gardening, adhering to sustainable agricultural practices inspired by the sufficiency economy philosophy of His Majesty the King. Recognizing the community's potential, the Office of the Special Development Administration for Sustainable Tourism (OSDP) has provided support and knowledge, transforming it into a hub for organic agricultural tourism. The Dongyen Community Enterprise has established a network focused on chemical-free farming, promoting natural fermentation techniques for plant cultivation. This sustainable agricultural approach allows the community to enjoy a continuous supply of fresh vegetables and fruits year-round.
