Wat Yai Intharam is a third-class royal monastery, a historic temple that has long been a cornerstone of the community in Chonburi Province. It was originally constructed during the late Ayutthaya period. The temple was officially designated as a temple by the government in 1822 and was granted its ecclesiastical boundaries in 1792. On August 15, 1975, it was graciously elevated to a third-class royal monastery by royal decree.
