Phra Ajarn Daeng, the abbot of Wat Daeng Thammachart, shared that Wat Daeng Thammachart was established in 1857. The name of the temple is thought to have originated from local villagers who brought red cows to graze in the area, initially calling it "Wat Wua Daeng" or "Temple of the Red Cows." Over time, the word "cow" was dropped, and the villagers began to simply refer to it as "Wat Daeng." The temple is home to the largest Naga Pra Buddha statue in Nonthaburi province.
