Wat Kaew Fah is likely linked to a historical event during the early Ayutthaya period, specifically the sudden passing of King Chai Ratcha Thirat. His eldest son, Prince Kaew Fah, who was only 11 years old at the time, was crowned to succeed him. However, Prince Tiaracha, a younger brother of King Chai Ratcha Thirat, foresaw the impending danger and chose to ordain at Wat Ratchapradithan. Subsequently, King Kaew Fah ruled for just over one year before being assassinated by Khun Worawong Sathirach at Wat Khok Phra Ya. After seizing the throne for five months, Khun Phiren Tharap was then responsible for his death, displaying his body at Wat Raeng. Following this, Prince Tiaracha ascended the throne as King Maha Chakrapat, a royal descendant of King Chai Ratcha. In honor of King Kaew Fah, Wat Kaew Fah was constructed during that era by devoted officials as a memorial to commemorate his reign, a legacy that continues to be remembered to this day.
