Wat Mettatham Phothiyan

Muang Kanchanaburi District, Kanchanaburi.

This temple is distinguished by its Chinese architecture and serves as a prominent center for Mahayana Buddhism. The entire structure is made of wood and features a magnificent 12-meter tall statue of the bodhisattva Guanyin, intricately carved from wood. Surrounding this grand figure are over 100 wooden carvings of Guanyin in various poses. In addition, visitors to the Wat Metta Tham Bodhiyana can offer their fortunes to the Chinese deity Tai Sui Yee, representing the 60 zodiac signs for blessings. The temple also provides vegetarian food to welcome and nourish those who come to explore its beauty.
