Wat Khao Suwannapradit, originally known to locals as "Wat Khao Lan," is situated on the open hillside of Ban Thong Mai, which is why it was named "Khao Lan." The community believes that Khao Lan is the dwelling place of Phra Thaan Yod Khao, a protective deity of the mountain and the surrounding lands. The local people have great respect for this figure; whenever they wish to succeed in any endeavor, they make offerings and prayers to Phra Thaan Yod Khao.
