Wat Khao Tham Thian in Suphan Buri province is truly an unseen gem! This place is a magnificent hub of religion and nature that you definitely shouldn't miss. The standout highlight is the "Phra Buddha Pusaya Kiri Si Suwannaphum," also known as "Luang Por U-Thong," which is the largest carved Buddha statue on a rock cliff in Thailand and ASEAN! The statue is incredibly majestic, standing at 108 meters tall with a lap width of 65 meters, making it a breathtaking sight. Additionally, behind the statue, there is a large tunnel where visitors can pay respects to various sacred objects, as well as spots to make merit based on birth years. The overall atmosphere is lush and tranquil, perfect for making merit and relaxing. There are also beautiful viewpoints and local markets where you can purchase food and souvenirs. The glass skywalk is another interesting highlight, although it is currently under construction, expected to open in 2025. Getting there is very convenient; it takes only about 2-3 hours from Bangkok. You can drive via Highway 340 or 321, or take a bus to U-Thong district and then transfer to a songthaew or motorcycle taxi. This trip guarantees both merit and beautiful photos to take home!
